Brzezinski: Syria is not Libya.

Former Carter national security adviser and trusted Rockefeller minion Zbigniew Brzezinski has stated that military intervention in Syria will not work as it did in Libya.

Although he currently opposes direct military intervention, Brzezinski said that if Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and neighboring Arab nations support “a course of action that they think is needed for resolving the Syrian problem,” the United States will “fully support” it.

Brzezinski said distinct differences between Libya and Syria “underline the greater complexity of the Syrian problem, and the limitations of what can be done from the outside.” He stressed that “Syria is not Libya” and “Assad is not Gaddafi.”

On Thursday, Obama held a Rose Garden press conference with the British Prime Minister, David Cameron. Obama said that the U.S. military “plans for everything” but emphasized, however, that the U.S. and U.K. remain committed to pressuring Bashar al-Assad’s regime diplomatically and politically.

Obama and Cameron echoed Brzezinski when they said Syria presents certain “complexities” that make military intervention problematic.

Cameron stated that if civil war or revolution erupts in the country, it would be the fault of al-Assad.

In fact, CIA and MI6 operatives are busily at work attempting to foment the sort of manufactured revolution or civil war Cameron mentioned. “The Libyan model’s being replicated in Syria, so far short of bombing. Expect it if current tactics don’t achieve regime change,” Stephen Lendman wrote in February.

The alternative media has reported details on British and Qatari troops directing rebel ammunition deliveries and tactics in Homs. “Allegedly not engaged in fighting, they’re tactically aiding and abetting foreign insurgents illegally against a sovereign government,” Lendman wrote, citing the Israeli intelligence asset, DEBKAfile.

Confirming the work of foreign operatives inside Syria, the Mail Online reported that Syrian authorities captured two British SAS soldiers who were “on a secret mission.” British Foreign Office Minister Mike O’Brien intervened directly to get the two men released.

“Once a political decision has been reached to proceed with internal disturbances in Syria, CIA is prepared, and Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) will attempt to mount minor sabotage and coup de main (sic) incidents within Syria, working through contacts with individuals,” an alleged US-UK lintelligence document leaked in February states.

In January, it was reported that MI6, the CIA, and British SAS are in Syria working with the Free Syrian Army and the Syrian National Council to overthrow the al-Assad regime. The Free Syrian Army is widely recognized as a creation of NATO. It is comprised largely of militants from the Muslim Brotherhood – itself an asset of British intelligence – and is funded, supported, and armed by the United States, Israel, and Turkey.

In February, we reported that former FBI interpreter and whistle blower Sibel Edmunds, former CIA officer Philip Giraldi, and a handful of others have reported on the U.S.-NATO-CIA campaign to undermine al-Assad and violently depose his regime, but this information had been routinely ignored by the establishment media.

The current effort to undermine Syria from within is reminiscent of an earlier attempt. In 1957, British PM Harold Macmillan and president Dwight Eisenhower signed off on a CIA-MI6 plan to stage contrived border incidents as an excuse for an invasion by Syria’s Arab neighbors and then assassinate “the most influential triumvirate in Damascus,” Ben Fenton wrote for The Guardian in 2003.

“In order to facilitate the action of liberative (sic) forces, reduce the capabilities of the Syrian regime to organize and direct its military actions, to hold losses and destruction to a minimum, and to bring about desired results in the shortest possible time, a special effort should be made to eliminate certain key individuals. Their removal should be accomplished early in the course of the uprising and intervention and in the light of circumstances existing at the time,” the “preferred plan” reads in part.
