Police in Aurora, Colorado, aim to carry out a controlled explosion later on Saturday at the booby-trapped apartment of suspected mass shooter James Holmes.
Holmes, who is accused of killing 12 and injuring 58 in an attack on a midnight cinema showing of the latest Batman movie, is believed to have rigged his apartment with lethal devices.
At a news conference, Sgt Cassidee Carlson said that there was no rush to enter Holmes’ dwelling to defuse whatever devices are inside.
