Creator of Beavis & Butt-Head, King of the Hill sounds off on gun control, Hollywood & more in exclusive Infowars interview

Iconic animator Mike Judge, the man behind Beavis & Butt-Head and King of the Hill, told Infowars in an exclusive interview that his 2006 movie Idiocracy, which depicted a dystopic futuristic society populated by morons, is already unfolding, as well as sounding off on a number of different issues including gun control and Hollywood.

Judge told Alex Jones that his parents raised him to be a liberal but he doesn’t feel comfortable describing himself as a Democrat or a Republican because the two extremes of partisanship resemble a “religion”. Judge added that he had become “interested in smaller government kind of thinking” since he began building his own projects and was getting “penalized left and right” by the system as a result.

Judge expressed his annoyance at people in Hollywood who use their fame as a platform for political cheerleading and “use the audience they’ve gained to put out a political message when they have no idea what they’re talking about.”

The animator also addressed the hot button topic of gun control, noting that he used to be for it but that Michael Moore’s Bowling for Columbine had the opposite of its intended effect. “I own guns and I think if you look at it statistically you actually are safer,” said Judge, noting that gun crime is on the decrease despite many Americans believing it has risen.

“When I was getting blamed for all this downfall of youth,” Judge said referring to his Beavis and Butt-head days, “that whole time crime was going down in almost every category.” Judge pointed to graphs (shown in the video) which show higher crime in the areas with the strictest gun control.

“Because I have this science background I look at that and it’s kind of ridiculous,” said Judge, adding, “I would be all for it if it’s effective but I haven’t seen anything that shows it’s effective.”

Mentioning Alex Jones’ explosive performance on CNN earlier this year, Judge remarked, “I loved it – it’s good to see someone yelling at Piers Morgan….I was thinking right on Alex go for it!”

Turning to recent scandals involving the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups and Americans who teach the Constitution, Judge commented, “That does scare me, I think I’m gonna make sure to not use the words ‘tea party’ or ‘constitution’ in any of my work….that actually is scary, that’s gonna make me listen to some more Alex Jones.”

Judge explained that one of the major motivations behind his comedy was people’s sensation of being “out of sync with the way the world is” and their frustration with “being stuck in a cubicle to being stuck in a classroom that you don’t belong in.”

During the interview, Judge also explains the genesis of his underground cult movie Idiocracy, which is based around a dystopic vision of a future society managed and populated by dumb people.

“I was thinking about the way evolution works, there’s no predators now, so it started with that but then I was actually in line with my daughters in 2001 at Disneyland at the teacups ride….there was a woman behind me who had this altercation with another woman, they both have their kids in strollers and they just start going off ‘I’m gonna kick your ass’….I’m thinking this isn’t what Disney had in mind.”

“I was thinking so what if this movie 2001 instead of everything being monolith and pristine and advanced, what if it was just like the Jerry Springer show and giant Wal-Marts, so I was thinking just take that chart from when it was made now and project it out and see where that would go,” said Judge, adding, “a lot of the stuff that’s in there is maybe starting to happen now instead of 500 years from now.”

Judge reveals how the promotion behind the movie was botched and that the production company had no interest in making it successful, but how that paradoxically made more people want to see it, helping it become an underground hit.
