A suspect is in custody following a shooting at the New River Valley Mall in Christiansburg that left two women injured.
Emergency officials received a 911 call around 2 p.m. Friday about a subject with a gun at the New River Community College satellite location in the mall. The caller reported hearing shots fired.
Upon arrival, authorities located two adult females with gunshot wounds. One was airlifted to the hospital and the other was taken by ambulance. Their conditions and identities are unknown.
