Two veteran Chicago police officers are being investigated in connection with the sex trafficking of an underage girl while off-duty, the Tribune has learned.

A department spokeswoman wouldn’t confirm the nature of the investigation but said the officers have been relieved of their police powers and reassigned to paid desk duty.

The officers have been working for the Police Department for more than 20 years each, according to city records. The Tribune is not naming them because they have not been charged with wrongdoing.

Investigators are looking into the role the two played in connection with a 14-year-old girl who had been soliciting prostitution on a website, according to a source familiar with the investigation.
