President Trump has denounced the decision of the Justice Department’s to appoint a special counsel to investigate conspiracy theories about collusion with Russian officials, saying that it is nothing more than a ‘witch hunt’.
Trump took to Twitter Thursday morning to make the comments:

The President also lamented that Obama and Hillary Clinton never faced such treatment despite committing a number of “illegal acts”:

The investigation will be headed by former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who was reappointed by President Obama, after serving under President George W. Bush.
Trump echoed comments he made yesterday, when he released a statement declaring that there is no evidence of any collusion between his campaign and the Russian government.
“As I have stated many times, a thorough investigation will confirm what we already know – there was no collusion between my campaign and any foreign entity,” the statement read.
During an appearance at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Wednesday, Trump stated that no other politician has ever been treated worse by the media.
“No politician in history—and I say this with great surety—has been treated worse or more unfairly,” Trump said.
He followed up the comment with a defiant rebuttal “You can’t let them get you down. You can’t let the critics and the naysayers get in the way of your dreams.”
“You have to put your head down and fight, fight, fight,” he added. “Never, ever, ever give up. Things will work out just fine.”
“I guess that’s why we won,” Trump added. “Adversity makes you stronger. Don’t give in, don’t back down, and never stop doing what you know is right.”
While a number of Republicans have called fro Trump’s impeachment, without any evidence of wrongdoing, Trump has found an unwitting ally in former Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) who said Americans must put party politics aside and acknowledge that the federal government is “under attack from within.”
