While it’s being revealed that search engine giant Google has given its contractors directives to censor and de-list Infowars.com, it’s important to note that Google and Facebook have been trying to control and censor the Internet for years.

Just last week, Google rolled out its new “fact checking” feature, which uses – just like Facebook – left-leaning media outlets like Snopes.com and Politifact.com to combat “fake news.”

“Even though differing conclusions may be presented, we think it’s still helpful for people to understand the degree of consensus around a particular claim and have clear information on which sources agree,” said Google’s research scientist Cong Yu.

Facebook has also been trailblazing information suppression efforts on social media by burying conservative topics and “injecting” selected stories into the trending module that weren’t even popular, going against the company’s claims that they simply show “topics that have recently become popular on Facebook.”

“Depending on who was on shift, things would be blacklisted or trending,” a former Facebook news curator told Gizmodo. “I’d come on shift and I’d discover that CPAC or Romney or Glenn Beck or popular conservative topics wouldn’t be trending because either the curator didn’t recognize the news topic or it was like they had a bias against Ted Cruz.”

“I believe it had a chilling effect on conservative news,” he added.

Last December, Facebook announced its intention to fight “fake news” by partnering with the same third-party “fact-checking” organizations that Google has recently brought to bear on its own censorship directive, including Snopes.com, ABC News, and Politifact.com

Globalist billionaire George Soros also has a hand in encouraging online censorship and information suppression.

In August 2016, hacktivist group DCLeaks released a trove of documents revealing that the Soros-funded Open Society Justice Initiative, an arm of his Open Society Foundation (OSF) network, called for international control of the internet to decide “what information is taken off the internet and what may remain.”

And in 2015, Google began working on a system to rank websites on its search engine based on facts and “truthfulness” rather than popularity, which arbitrarily decides their “truth score” by software and Google’s “Knowledge Vault,” a cache of facts scooped up from across the internet.

With all of this under consideration, it’s no surprise then that Google has hired contractors to bury or ban conservative and libertarian web sites like infowars.com, according to investigative journalist Mike Cernovich.
