It’s no secret Marco Rubio is the reformulated tea party’s choice for president. Earlier this week the junior senator from Florida declared NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden a traitor.

“We must respond to the valid concerns of Americans, who are alarmed by reports regarding their civil liberties,” Rubio told a gaggle of neocons at the American Enterprise Institute. “But we must also distinguish these reasonable concerns from conspiracy theories sparked by Edward Snowden. This man is a traitor who has sought assistance and refuge from some of the world’s most notorious violators of liberty and human rights.”

Rubio went on to say that because al-Qaeda does not use carrier pigeons, the national security state requires a Stasi surveillance apparatus trampling the Constitution he is sworn to uphold.

“Our intelligence programs need to be carefully monitored and controlled. But we do need them, because terrorists don’t use carrier pigeons to communicate,” Rubio argued. “They use cell phones and the Internet, adapting the latest technologies to aid their malign intent. We need to be prepared to intercept the messages of those who mean us harm while not interfering in the affairs of ordinary citizens.”

Apparently 35 leaders of foreign countries also had “malign intent” and that’s why the NSA monitored their phones.

In fact, massive vacuum-approach surveillance has so far not resulted in preventing a single terrorist attack. But then it is not designed to stop Muslim terrorists. It is designed to monitor the American people and ferret out and squash any credible challenge to the status quo. Government designated terrorists live in America, not caves in Afghanistan or tribal regions in Pakistan.

The neocon and corporate dominated Republican party did an admirable job of dismantling a libertarian tea party and reassembling it as a cheering section for the supposed right side of the establishment.

In order to keep up appearances – and make sure no real challenge emerges from the ranks – the political puppeteers have groomed Marco Rubio and others to pose as tea party favorites ready to struggle with their equally groomed and controlled left-side counterparts to capture the teleprompter throne in 2016. Either way, the shadow government remains in control and the globalist agenda rolls onward.

Rubio’s speech is reassurance for the neocon faction dominated by a Straussian intelligentsia. Neocons are highly distrustful of Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. But the young senator from Florida will put them at ease. If selected by the mandarins of the ruling political class, Rubio may also be counted to deliver the Hispanic vote.
