US taxpayers will fork out over 120 grand to cover Michelle Obama’s trip to Venice, Italy, where she will take in the cultural sights that the European city has to offer.

The Venice is the last leg of a trip to Europe which includes a visit to London to meet with Prince Harry, the grandson of The Queen, and a stop off in Vicenza, Italy to visit members of the armed forces.

“From London, the First Lady will travel to Milan,” the White House press office announced. “As part of her Let’s Move! initiative, the First Lady will lead a Presidential Delegation to the Milan Expo 2015, representing our steadfast commitment to a healthier nation.”

Michelle Obama’s delegation has been dubbed “American Food 2.0: United to Feed the Planet.”

“Mrs. Obama and the Delegation will also participate in a cooking activity with children,” the press office added. “In addition to visiting the U.S. Pavilion, the First Lady will meet with Prime Minister Renzi, and tour the Italian Pavilion with Ms. Landini, the Prime Minister’s wife.”

Many American will cringe at the idea of Michelle O’s hideous meals being exported to Europe, particularly Italy, where school children enjoy fine dining in comparison to their American counterparts.

It is the Venice stop off that will anger most, however. The First Lady will “visit cultural sites in Venice before returning to Washington, D.C.” according to the press office.

Nothing was announced regarding the cost of this sightseeing trip, however. A State Department contract titled “Lodging for FLOTUS Venice,” shows costs of $128,781. The contract, signed June 10, was awarded by the American Embassy in Rome.

Meanwhile, ahead of Michelle’s jaunt, the Obamas have been attending to the important business of partying in secret at the White House with Prince and Stevie Wonder and 500 elite guests.

While the press secretary Josh Earnest maintained that the gathering was a private affair, paid for personally by the Obamas, he declined to address questions about the guest list, including whether it included lawmakers or lobbyists and whether the event was catered by White House staff.

White House reporters were sent home for the day before the event. Indeed, no one would have even know the event had taken place, had some of the secret guests not tweeted about it. One guest who couldn’t keep his mouth shut was race agitator Al Sharpton:

The Obamas are no strangers to exploiting their positions to host lavish gatherings and take luxury holidays. Last year independent government watchdog group Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information lawsuit against the U.S. Secret Service to obtain details of the cost of such opulent getaways taken by Obama at the tax payer’s expense.

The group found that the Obamas racked up nearly $16 million on one vacation to Africa and on a Christmas vacation to Honolulu last year. An earlier finding In February, revealed that the Obama family’s vacation to Martha’s Vineyard in August 2013 hit taxpayers with an approximate $1.1 million bill for flying expenses.

A year ago, figures indicated that the Obamas have spent $44,351,777.12 in taxpayer cash on travel expenses, accruing over  30 vacations since the president took office in 2009.
