Ten Taliban militants suspected of shooting the teenage education activist Malala Yousafzai have been arrested, the Pakistan army has announced.

However, the man long thought to have ordered the October 2012 attack, Mullah Fazlullah, now the leader of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), or Pakistani Taliban, is still at large.

Major-General Asim Saleem Bajwa,the Pakistan army spokesman, said yesterday the suspects had been arrested in a joint operation involving the army, police and agents from the country’s spy agency.
