People don’t kill people, guns and cars do according to Austin’s finest

After a suspected drunk driver crashed through barricades at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas Wednesday night, killing at least two and injuring 23 others, we asked festival goers if an appropriate response would be to ban cars instead of blaming the driver, considering that gun control advocates likewise push for gun bans after every mass shooting.

Last year, the federal government admitted that the number of individuals killed by automobile-related causes is approximately three times higher annually than those killed by all gun-related deaths combined.

Fortunately we do not see former N.Y. mayor Michael Bloomberg bankrolling an anti-car movement. But he is funding multiple gun control groups which are pretending to be grassroots while demanding the mass erosion of our rights.

And these groups are not just attacking the Second Amendment but the First Amendment as well. Last week, we revealed that two of these groups, Moms Demand Action and Mayors Against Illegal Guns, are working with Facebook to restrict pro-gun speech on its various pages in a move that will likely lead to the outright censorship of gun topics throughout the social media site.

So far, Facebook has agreed to restrict users under 18 from seeing firearm-related content, such as Second Amendment fan pages, and the social media giant is even giving gun control groups free ad space to push their propaganda onto unwitting users.

Simply put, Bloomberg is attacking the First Amendment in order to turn the Second Amendment into a taboo subject.

And as mentioned earlier, these groups pretend to be grassroots but are anything but. This past Saturday, MAIG, MDA and Americans for Responsible Solutions hosted a panel discussion on gun control at SXSW which hardly anyone attended.

Compare that to Wednesday’s open carry march in downtown Austin, Texas which attracted over 100 activists who carried rifles in front of an international crowd during SXSW.

And compare the anti-gun event’s failure to the marches in support of Ron Paul that occurred every month in Austin back in 2012, which spontaneously attracted over 50 grassroots supporters of the former Congressman during his presidential run.

The majority of the marchers found Dr. Paul through his books, speeches and videos and found each other by actively looking for other supporters through Facebook and Meetup.

These were true grassroots movements as they empowered individuals to stand up for their rights, unlike anti-gun groups which only serve the agenda of the elite such as Bloomberg.

The facade of gun control is crumbling away.
