The UCLA campus is in the process of lifting a lockdown order after police responded to an active shooting incident.

Two male individuals were shot dead near Boelter Hall – located next to the School of Engineering building – according to representatives with the Los Angeles Police Department.

“Students have been told to shelter in a secure place,” reports CBS.

CNBC claims authorities recovered a handgun and a suicide note.

The UCLA police chief asserted one of the dead males was the shooter, according to San Diego ABC affiliate 10 News.

Witnesses described the suspect as a 6-foot tall Caucasian male wearing a black jacket and black pants.

USA Today notes: “A construction worker interviewed by KTLA-TV said he saw a single shooter, possibly wearing body armor.”

Infowars reporter Joe Biggs spoke with one student following the lockdown who claimed to have grabbed a crowbar and fashioned body armor in case the shooter entered his room.
