The latest slacktivist campaign to restrict gun rights features a raft of celebrities ‘wearing orange’ to promote National Gun Violence Awareness day, although in Susan Sarandon’s case she couldn’t even be bothered to put on the t-shirt.
I’m #wearingorange because there’s more we can do to save American lives from gun violence. http://t.co/IrTITyLfQ1 pic.twitter.com/Oohjc1MggB

The actress quickly caught flak for her miserable efforts.
@SusanSarandon No, no you're not "wearing" it. Wearing requires actually putting it ON, not holding up to your chest. #wearingorange

.@SusanSarandon Stupid idea, but you didn't even take the time to put the shirt on. Wow. You must really care! #liberalLoserActor

@SusanSarandon Well…..not precisely 'wearing.' But you look awful in that color anyway. I get it.

@SusanSarandon @MomsDemand does your security carry firearms? Start with them first
— American Citizen (@2Adoordie) June 2, 2015
.@SusanSarandon oh, I thought you were wearing it because you're a washed up has-been actress looking for a new angle. #MyBad

The #WearingOrange hashtag was subsequently hijacked by second amendment advocates, and much hilarity ensued.

The campaign was launched in the same week actor Vince Vaughn asserted that more school massacres would be prevented if firearms were allowed on campus in the hands of responsible individuals.
“It’s well known that the greatest defense against an intruder is the sound of a gun hammer being pulled back,” Vaughn told GQ Magazine, adding, “You think the politicians that run my country and your country don’t have guns in the schools their kids go to? They do.”
