Texas Rep. Ron Paul’s Saturday birthday bash has left the Republican presidential candidate with an additional $1.5 million.
The Texas Republican, who launched a “moneybomb” Saturday, raised nearly $1.5 million, providing him with a solid war chest as the campaign in Iowa continues.
Mr. Paul, who has made his “moneybombs” an major component of his campaign, announced the fundraiser on Facebook, calling on supporters to contribute. Within hours Mr. Paul had raised over $250,00.
“My birthday has just started and already we’ve raised over $270,000! I am leaving a great campaign event in Florida, and hope the ticker moves up a lot during my plane ride. I’ll be eager to check it on my iPad when I get to Texas,” Mr. Paul wrote in a message on Facebook. Wow, what a wonderful birthday gift…Please spread the word, tell all your friends and consider chipping in right now!”
