Senator Rand Paul has warned that if Donald Trump is nominated to be the 2016 GOP presidential candidate he would likely end up losing to the Democratic candidate in an unprecedented landslide.

In an interview with Newsmax, Paul prophesied that if Trump someone won the nomination, Republican primary voters would turn against the billionaire once they discover how much of a “disaster” he is.

“Donald Trump would be probably the largest loser of any candidate ever in the history of the country if he were our nominee,” Paul urged.

“He’s the worst nominee we could possibly think of,” the Senator noted, adding that Trump would “get swamped in a landslide.”

“He’s so polarized the debate that do you think women are going to nominate some guy who judges people by their appearance, and calls another candidate ugly?” Paul stated.

“Do you think they are going to nominate somebody who implies that most Hispanics are rapists and drug dealers?”

Paul said he believes Trump is the current front runner only because “people haven’t started looking really seriously at the record” of all the candidates yet.

“Ultimately people are going to wake up I think that the majority of Republicans will wake up and see that ‘oh my goodness, we can’t nominate this, this would be a disaster for our party and for the country.”

Paul agreed with host Ed Berliner’s declaration that “America is just simply too smart to elect Donald Trump as president.”
