A Queens man was brutally stabbed on the subway on Friday by a robber who wanted his iPhone—and he is especially upset with the fellow straphangers who didn’t come to his aid as he bled out in the car. “Nobody helped me,” 33-year-old victim Efrain Guaman told the Post from his hospital bed. “I asked for help. They all ran because they were scared.”
Guaman, an electronic store clerk and single father, was riding from Elmhurst to Sunset Park on the N train around 11:30 a.m. Friday when the incident happened. As the train approached the Pacific Street station, the suspect, whom cops describe as an 18-year-old with a neck tattoo, demanded his iPhone. “It happened so fast, I didn’t realize what he was trying to do,” Guaman said, adding that the attacker yelled bluntly, “Give me your phone or I’ll stab you!”
The suspect then stabbed him in the gut, took his phone, and exited the train at the Atlantic Avenue stop. Guaman was able to pull the emergency lever in the subway car to stop it, but no one on the train would help him: “It took 30 minutes for emergency to come,” he said. “I couldn’t think of anything. I just felt the pain.”
