German police have released photos of five men wanted in connection with the mass sexual assaults on women in Cologne on New Year’s Eve.
Officers are appealing for information in order to identify the five men suspected of sexually assaulting or harassing women during the New Year’s Eve celebrations which have been linked mainly to men of north African origin.
The police said that the suspects pictured are believed to have surrounded and then harassed women and then tried to steal from them.
“Despite the alarming situation, we managed to find more witnesses and victims with photos of the suspects,” according to a police statement.
Some of the photos came from witnesses, while others came from security cameras, the police said.
