Two law officers shot a man in a stolen pickup after he led authorities on a pursuit Thursday night from Riverside County to the U.S.-Mexico border and rammed three law enforcement vehicles, authorities said.

The man was wounded in one leg when a San Diego police officer and a U.S. Border Patrol agent opened fire on him at the San Ysidro border crossing, San Diego police said.

Authorities identified the suspect as Carlos Romero, 30, of Riverside County. According to emergency radio traffic, the man was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center.
