Today the White House proudly posted on Twitter a video clip of President Obama speaking somewhere – it’s unclear when and where, but he was clearly without the assistance of teleprompters.
The highlight of the short clip was Obama’s assertion that
One of my core principles is that I will never engage in a politics in which I’m trying to divide people, or make them less than me because they look different or have a different religion. That’s not something I would violate.
Needless to say, the responses on Twitter expressed incredulity:
