Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s comment to “Joe the Plumber” about his intended policy to “spread the wealth” is a good idea, according to Democratic leaders.

After the last presidential debate, where GOP presidential candidate John McCain challenged Obama about his “spread the wealth” remark, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) told CNSNews.com: “The average middle class person needs help and wants help and when they hear that they will get a tax cut and John McCain’s focus is rather on cutting taxes for the very wealthy and letting it trickle down to the middle class, he loses.”
