Deny, deny, deny.
That seems to be Hillary Clinton’s mantra for whenever a subject is raised that she finds uncomfortable.
Clinton once again insulted the intelligence of her own supporters and the rest of the nation by denying she has any knowledge about support for her campaign coming from big oil.
During a campaign event in New Hampshire on Wednesday, Clinton was asked the following question:
“You’ve also said that you support renewable energy in our country, but have taken over $150,000 dollars from the Big Oil and gas industries. These are industries which are in direct conflict with your interest in renewable energies, and I’m wondering if you’d be willing to take one step further away from the Republicans and take a stand against any more campaign contributions from them?”
Clinton responded in typical fashion, stating “Yeah, I don’t even know what you’re referring to, but Big Oil knows I’m not their friend.”
Referring to the confirmed $150,000 PLUS in campaign contributions, Clinton suggested “They must’ve put it in the wrong envelope, because I’ve been very clear about that, and I want to take away all their subsidies, I’ve been public about that. We’re going to move those six billion dollars a year into clean, renewable energy.”
The comments drew laughter from the crowd. Then Clinton went on a diatribe about campaign financing rules, claiming it is the fault of Republicans that she can accept large corporate contributions, and is part of a “cancerous” system.
In December, Clinton was asked a similar question at a town hall event, and claimed that she is unaware of ever having received money from the fossil fuels industry.
Clinton made the statement with full knowledge that almost all of the lobbyists who work for her now once worked for oil and gas companies, and that her Foundation has received untold millions from the industry.
During another appearance Wednesday, Clinton was so flippant in answering a question about the speaking fees that she has received from mega-banks, that it drew the ire of MSNBC news anchors:
When CNN’s Anderson Cooper asked Clinton why she had accepted $675,000 for just three speaking engagements with Goldman Sachs, Clinton attempted to deny detailed knowledge of the situation saying she makes lots of speeches to different groups.
When Cooper pressed Clinton on the Goldman Sachs money, she replied “Well, I don’t know. Um, that’s what they offered.”
“So, just to be clear, that’s not something you regret, those three speeches?” Cooper asked.
“No,” Hillary shot back. “I don’t, because I don’t feel that I pay any price for it, and I am very clear about what I will do, and they’re on notice.”
The banksters and the oil barrons must be quaking in their golden boots.
