The artistic musings of Billy Corgan and his ever-evolving Smashing Pumpkins are back, with their latest music video “Drum + Fife” making a powerful statement regarding the ravages of war.

A foreign desert terrain serves as the backdrop for the video, which features children playing in the sun before rockets, presumably fired from drones, come crashing down.

One of the surviving children heads to a soldiers’ barracks, where a visibly disturbed man sits recounting the horrors of the day’s events.

The video “puts a gentle spotlight in support of all the soldiers coming back with PTSD,” Corgan said in an exclusive statement to Infowars.

“I asked, albeit in an allegorical way, for the video to represent what our returning soldiers are going through with PTSD, and I feel that the directors [Ahlander/Antiga] captured that with poignancy,” Corgan elaborated in a statement obtained by Rolling Stone.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the message we’re sending that we care what happens to those that are out there hurting.”

Directors Jimmy Ahlander and Robin Antiga also expressed satisfaction with their war-themed production.

“Our aim was to create a film which was poetic and yet made a very direct statement about war, conflict and how we acclimatize ourselves from an early age to this course of action,” the directors said in a joint statement.

The video represents the second single off the band’s ninth studio album Monuments to an Elegy.

The Pumpkins will perform “Drum + Fife” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on April 2nd, and Corgan and bassist Mark Stoermer will also do an acoustic rendition the following day on Good Morning America.

The band will also team up this summer with Marilyn Manson for The End Times Tour.
