Dyson just disproved his own ridiculous claim

MSNBC pundit and professor Michael Eric Dyson, who previously argued that it is impossible for black people to be racist, illustrated why so many viewers are abandoning the beleaguered network when he said that Americans would not understand racism until white kids were being killed in the same numbers as blacks.

During a segment discussing the George Zimmerman verdict, Dyson, a professor of sociology at Georgetown University, remarked, “White Americans and others will feel that this was a justifiable verdict, this is how things happen. Not until, and unless, the number of white kids die that approximate the numbers of black and other kids who die, will America see.”

Dyson also called on Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder to take unspecified “bold” and courageous” action.

Dyson’s argument is not only racist and offensive, it completely ignores the reality that black on black crime accounts for the vast majority of murders of black people in the United States.

According to the Justice Department, 94 per cent of all black murder victims in the United States are killed by other black people. More blacks are murdered in Chicago every weekend than the Ku Klux Klan killed over a period of 50 years.

Dyson’s attempt to play the race card by arguing that white Americans think the Zimmerman verdict was justifiable simply because whites are not being murdered at the same ratio as blacks makes absolutely no sense whatsoever given that the vast majority of blacks are killed by other blacks, not by whites or hispanics.

The high murder rate of young black men has virtually nothing to do with the actions of white people, so why is Dyson making such a spurious correlation? His rhetoric is the very definition of racism.

Dyson is also not so animated about the fact that 1,300 black babies are killed every day in America through abortion.

The MSNBC pundit’s convoluted logic, disguised as it is by high-brow yet ultimately nonsensical academic rhetoric, is no surprise given that he has previously argued that it is impossible for black people to be racist. Dyson just disproved his own ridiculous claim.

Is it really any wonder that MSNBC’s ratings recently plunged to a 6 year low when people like Dyson are their caliber of pundit?
