Why are people voting for Donald Trump? For a good part of his base the reason is simple: block Hillary Clinton from taking the White House.
While both Trump and Clinton draw support from those that want to block the other candidate, the poll from IPSOS for Reuters news agency shows that 51% of Trump backers are voting to stop Hillary while 45% of Clinton backers want to stop The Donald.

The poll shows that very few are backing the two leading candidates because they actually like them. Just 6% said they were voting for Donald Trump because they like him while 11% could say that about Clinton. An effectively equal amount backed both Clinton and Trump based on their policies – 40% said they backed Trump for his policies while 41% said the same about Clinton.
The poll was conducted by IPSOS surveying 1,046 adults aged 18 and over.
