Michelle Obama is weathering criticism after visiting an Italian church in an outfit that exposed her bare shoulders, a violation of the church’s modest dress code.
The former First Lady was photographed touring Siena, Tuscany, Monday along with former President Barack Obama.
The couple reportedly visited the Duomo di Siena, a cathedral which dates back to the 12th century, where Michelle was seen in a “flirty strappy top,” according to the Daily Mail.
While not explicit, appropriate dress code at Italian churches generally calls for shoulders and knees to be covered.
