The media once again slammed US president Donald Trump for calling the latest Islamist inspired attack in Paris a ‘terrorist attack’.

“Again, it’s happening, it seems. I just saw it as I was walking in, so that’s a terrible thing. And that’s a very, very terrible thing that’s going on in the world today. But it looks like another terrorist attack. And what can you say? It just never ends. We have to be strong and we have to be vigilant, and I’ve been saying it for a long time.” Trump told media during a conference with the Italian president.

Immediately, the media rounded on Trump for suggesting the obvious just moments before French police had officially confirmed that the incident was indeed terror related.

The AP tweeted “Trump calls Paris shooting ‘terrorist attack,’ Paris police have not yet announced motive.”

Needless to say that the AP doesn’t have a good record on reporting on terror related incidents lately, having tweeted earlier in the week that the Fresno shooter shouted “Glory to God…God is great” rather than what he actually shouted, which was “Allah Akbar”.

Over at MSNBC the “reporters” couldn’t hide their utter disdain that Trump would dare to suggest that a terrorist shooting was likely a “terrorist attack”:

“President Trump said right off the bat to a question looks like another terrorist attack in France that we have not been comfortable to call it that or report that but we’ll have more reporting upcoming,” said fake news peddling host Brian Williams.

Then Chuck Todd added that Trump was “getting ahead of the facts” despite the fact that French police were already suggesting the incident was terrorism.

“You do wonder if — are people are going to take what he said as some idea that it’s — that he knows something more than what anybody else does. But if you recall, even in his answer, oh, I just saw that as I was walking out type of thing,” Todd said.

Williams then again said “[w]e are not comfortable reporting” the incident as terrorism, complaining that Trump was proposing “a leading theory when police officers are killed.”

The guest, former Ambassador Nicholas Burns, chimed in “we just don’t have enough facts to go onto call, as you say, to call it a terrorist attack at this point.”

Another guest Jeremy Bash added that the world needed to “wait for the facts to determine whether or not the President’s assessment was correct.”

“Well, the President is quick to declare it probably a terrorist attack. I think it’s too soon to know whether indeed that is the case. If it turns out that it is not terrorism, I think the White House is going to have some explaining to do about why they characterized something as terrorism when it wasn’t.” Bash declared.

Trump’s hunch that this was a terror incident may have been predicated on the fact that there have now been 21 terrorist assaults in France since the deadly Charlie Hebdo attacks, just two and half years ago, in January 2015.

No matter, MSNBC continued to act mortally offended that Trump would call a spade a spade.

Williams and Daily Beast editor Christopher Dickey then launched into some in depth analysis that basically pinpointed  everything apart from terrorism as the problem.

Calling French presidential front runner Marine Le Pen a “racist,” Dickey lamented that the latest attack would embolden Le Pen’s “anti-Muslim, very anti-immigrant campaign”.

Williams then connected Le Pen to Trump, and threw in Brexit for good measure, implying that all these things are the root cause of the ongoing attacks.

“So her election would further spark that really started with Brexit, a spark that people looking at the global situation include the election of Donald Trump,” Williams blathered. “There are fears about Angela Merkel’s successor in Germany, but that would be a piece of this whole, correct?”

Dickey agreed with Williams and said that two of the leading French candidates have “extreme” views. Not as extreme as gunning down cops in the streets and ploughing trucks into pedestrians, but ya know…

“Both of those characters want to get essentially, get out of the European Union and also weaken NATO,” Dickey said. “They are very pro-Russian, and so if that sounds like an echo of things we’ve seen in the United states, and to some extent heard in Britain, it is, and it would be really the nails in the coffin of the European Union and very probably of NATO as well.”

With a terrorist attack happening practically every week in major European and American cities, it simply appears laughable for the media to continue scolding the likes of Trump for saying “this looks like a terrorist attack” when every single time that is exactly what it is.
