The longest-serving US lawmaker, Democratic Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia, has died at the age of 92, US television reported early Monday.
The Democrat was admitted to a Washington area hospital late last week and doctors had described his condition as “seriously ill,” his office said Sunday.
