“Libertarian” Vice Presidential candidate Bill Weld joined Rachel Maddow last night to “vouch” for Hillary Clinton and praise her as “a person of high moral character.”
“I’m here vouching for Mrs. Clinton,” he told Maddow, “and I think it’s high time somebody did.”
“I’m doing it based on my personal experience with her, and I think that she deserves to have people vouch for her other than members of the Democratic National Committee,” he said.

He then went on to distance himself from his own campaign for issuing a statement critical of Clinton.

Weld also refused to say he thinks Gary Johnson would make a “better” president than Clinton, saying instead he “thinks” he’d “be capable” of being “a good chief executive … Aleppo, notwithstanding.”
