With only 3 weeks left in his term, President Obama has placed sanctions on Russia by amending an executive order that he wrote in 2015, aimed at countering a cyber attack from China.

The State Department declared 35 Russian government officials from the Russian Embassy in Washington and the Russian Consulate in San Francisco “persona non grata.”

The Obama Administration claims they did so in retaliation for the way American diplomats were being treated in Russia.
