A border enforcement advocate says he is glad that the Florida Supreme Court ruled that an illegal alien cannot get a law license.

The Florida high court rejected the petition from a Mexican national who was brought to the United States when he was nine years old. It ruled that federal law prohibits people who are unlawfully in the country from obtaining professional licenses.

The justices said state law can override the federal ban, but Florida has taken no action to do so.
