U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement wants to deport a Mexican man with a drunken driving conviction for the fourth time.
A state trooper arrested Ezequiel Jaramillo-Hernandez, 41, of Elsa on March 24, according to the state criminal complaint against him. Jaramillo is a Mexican citizen who wasn’t legally present in the United States.
After 12 days at the Hidalgo County jail, Jaramillo pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor.
County Court at Law Judge Arnoldo Cantu Jr. sentenced Jaramillo to 180 days in jail but suspended the sentence and placed him on probation for a year, according to court records.
