According to the establishment media, political “extremists” over on the so-called right pose a violent threat to the government.

In February, Newsweek ran an article claiming survivalists and militias are a bigger threat to America than ISIS.

Last month the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization that specializes in hysterical propaganda, claimed “white supremacists, nationalists and antigovernment conspiracists feverishly embrace” Donald Trump “as their Great White Hope, not to mention a ‘Patriot sleeper cell.’”

Meanwhile, the establishment media downplays violence perpetuated by Trump’s opponents, going so far as to insist the riot in San Jose last week outside a Trump rally was the fault of his campaign.

On Tuesday, a columnist for the Huffington Post attempted to legitimize violence and hatred as a legitimate form of political protest.

“Violent resistance matters. Riots can lead to major change,” writes Jesse Bern.

It’s not liberal politicians or masses that historians identify as the spark underlying the modern movement for LGBTQ equality… It was the people who took to the streets during the Stonewall Uprising. It was the Watts Rebellion, not the Watts Battle of Ideas, that exposed the enduring systemic neglect, poverty, inequality, and racism faced by that community. Similarly, it was the LA Uprising, not the LA Protests, that led to significant changes in the Los Angeles Police Department.

In short, change is impossible without property damage, looting, assault, and murder.

Bern criticizes “the problematic nature of people with privilege condemning violent resistance to Trump as an absolute moral failing” and denying the “logic” of attacking Trump supporters or, in the case of Ferguson, destroying private property, engaging in arson, and endangering the lives of citizens.

“And when those who hold that privilege dismiss the potential validity or logic of violent resistance, it’s effectively an effort to dictate the rules under which oppressed peoples respond to existential threats, and to silence forms of resistance disagreeable to privileged sensibilities,” he writes.

Although not specifically stated, Bern’s argument is a Marxist one.

The Murderous and Genocidal Logic of Marxism

In 1848, Karl Marx made a similar argument. He wrote that “there is only one way in which the murderous death agonies of the old society and the bloody birth throes of the new society can be shortened, simplified and concentrated, and that way is revolutionary terror.”

For the Marxist, political change through the election process is impossible and the conflict between classes—for Bern class distinction is based primarily on skin color and gender—must be resolved with violence.

Friedrich Engels underscored the murderous end game of communism in 1849 when he wrote: “The next world war will result in the disappearance from the face of the earth not only of reactionary classes and dynasties, but also of entire reactionary peoples. And that, too, is a step forward.”

Communism was the leading ideological cause of death between 1900 and 2000, claiming the lives of 94 million people, primarily in China and the Soviet Union.

“Communism is a killer. And yet some still say they support the idea: According to a 2011 Rasmussen poll, 11% of Americans think that communism would better serve this country’s needs than our current system,” writes John J. Walters.

Bern and the violent leftists—and the ideologically ignorant rioters in San Jose—pose a threat to those of us they consider “reactionary peoples” and this threat should be taken seriously.
