Last week, Democrats branded gubernatorial candidate Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) racist for using the phrase “monkey this up” to describe his black opponent’s socialist policies.
But an astute Twitter user found video clips of over a dozen prominent Democrats using the same phrase in various contexts and settings.
Some key Democrats include Rep. Adam Schiff (Calif.), Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Chuck Schumer (NY), Dick Durbin (IL), former Secretary of State John Kerry, and former White House press secretaries Josh Earnest and Jay Carney.

The truth is, “monkeying around,” “monkey this up” and “monkey business” are not racist phrases.
It’s the left that’s racist for automatically associating DeSantis’ use of the phrase to the race of his socialist opponent Andrew Gillum, when in context DeSantis was clearly referring to Gillum’s failed socialist ideas.
