The N.C. Attorney General’s office says it will seek an indictment against the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer accused in the 2013 shooting death of a former football player.

The Charlotte Observer reports (http://bit.ly/1cfLh6L) that the attorney general’s office announced Monday that the case of suspended officer Randall Kerrick will go to the grand jury on Jan. 21.

Kerrick is charged with last September’s shooting death of Jonathon Ferrell, a former Florida A&M football player.
