A cause of death for a 58-year-old man found unresponsive in a U.S. Border Patrol holding cell last week could take several weeks as investigators await the results of toxicology tests.
Border Patrol officials said Tuesday that no force was used against Steven Brian Keith during his arrest on Christmas Eve, when 3 pounds of marijuana were found in the trunk of his car.
Keith, a U.S. citizen, was headed west on Interstate 8 when he was stopped at the Border Patrol checkpoint in Pine Valley about 6 p.m., authorities said.
