Double standard rules coverage of terrorist inspiration

Floyd Corkins II, the terrorist who wounded a security guard at the Family Research Council (FRC) last year, used the Southern Poverty Law Center’s website to research his target.
The FRC, an organization founded by James Dobson that lobbies against LGBT “rights” and abortion, released a video of federal investigators questioning the convicted terrorist.
“Southern Poverty Law lists anti-gay groups,” Corkins explained to interrogators in the video obtained from the FBI. “I found them online, did a little research, went to the website, stuff like that.”
The SPLC listed the FRC as a hate group in the Winter 2010 issue of its magazine, Intelligence Report. It described the FRC as a “font of anti-gay propaganda throughout its history.”
During a plea agreement Corkins acknowledged in that he intended to kill as many people as possible during the shooting and also planned to target other organizations opposing gay marriage.
The establishment media declined to run the story linking the SPLC with a convicted terrorist.
Earlier this week, however, the Associated Press ran a story insinuating that Alex Jones had inspired Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the alleged Boston bomber who was killed by police.
