While Hillary Clinton has consistently denied that she is under ‘investigation’ over the email scandal, the head of the FBI has made it abundantly clear that she most certainly is.

Clinton and her aides have attempted over and over again to downplay the case as a ‘security review’ or some routine check being conducted by the Bureau.

However, FBI Director James Comey told reporters that Hillary’s wording is completely inaccurate.

“It’s in our name. I’m not familiar with the term ‘security inquiry,’ ” Comey said during a meeting with journalists.

“We’re conducting an investigation … That’s what we do,” he added.

While declining to confirm whether the investigation was criminal, Comey did say that it is not “tethered to any external deadline,” dispelling rumours that the FBI is attempting to wind it up before the Democratic National Convention.

Comey added, however, that he is under “pressure” to bring the investigation to a conclusion in a prompt and efficient manner.

“We want to do it well and we want to do it promptly. I feel pressure to do both of those things,” Comey said. “As between the two things, we will always choose ‘well.'”

Former Newsweek foreign editor Edward Klein has also said his sources claim that intelligence agencies in Washington are obstructing the FBI from conducting the investigation, and that Comey is being impeded by powerful interests in DC.

While Clinton’s campaign did not respond to the comments made by Comey, Sidney Blumenthal, a top adviser to both Bill and Hillary Clinton, was pulled up on the fact that he actually did use the term ‘investigation’ during an interview Thursday.

Appearing on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Blumenthal was asked “You met with the FBI about the emails?” by anchor Michelle Caruso-Cabrera.

“Um, well, as I’ve said, I can’t comment on an ongoing investigation,” Blumenthal replied, prompting anchor Joe Kernen to respond “Well, at least you called it an investigation.”

“So, you’re off the reservation there.” Kernen continued. “So, it’s not just the, what did she call it? A security review, I think. Because Comey yesterday said, ‘I don’t even know what that is.’”

“There’s the word, investigate, is in FBI, Federal Bureau of Investigation. This is an investigation, so we cleared that up,” Kernen said. “And you know, certain news networks have gone back and framed the ten or fifteen times she has said either security review or security, and play it one after another and then they superimpose Comey saying it is an investigation.” he added.
