The bomb placed in a rubbish container at Ein el-Hilweh, the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, exploded on Monday, a Palestinian security official told AFP.

Ein el-Hilweh is home to about 50,000 Palestinian refugees.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) says that about 425,000 Palestinian refugees are presently living in Lebanon, a country with a population of four million.

Lebanese leaders have always stressed the right of return for the Palestinian refugees, and reject any form of naturalization of the Palestinian expatriates.
