NYPD cop Wayne Roach, 35, was arrested outside of George F. Bristow high school in the Bronx after he was discovered to be drunk and had his penis exposed.
Parents of students reported seeing the off-duty Roach, a transit officer, passed out in his vehicle, mere feet away from the steps of the high school. This prompted school security to call the police on a police officer — what a concept!
When police arrived they discovered Roach asleep. The keys were in the vehicle’s ignition, Roach’s jacket was over his head, and his pants and underwear were pulled down — completely exposing Roach’s penis. While that would have been a lovely sight for any student who approached the vehicle earlier in the morning, there have been no reports that Roach actually exposed himself to anyone. Why his pants were down is for Roach to explain to his assigned judge.
After he was roused from his drunken slumber, Wayne Roach was charged with DWI and public lewdness. He was released on a Personal Recognizance bond. According to Inside Edition, an NYPD spokesperson stated that Roach has been officially suspended without pay.
A DWI in New York is punishable by up to 1 year in jail for a first offense. Public lewdness is a class-B misdemeanor, punishable by up to 90 days in jail.
