Only tea party extremists are opposed to Obama’s lie

In the Bizarro World of establishment politics, up is down, black is white, and Obamacare will be an advantage for Democrats.

“Americans have been feeling the benefits since 2010,” Debbie Wasserman Schultz told Candy Crowley on Sunday. “Democratic candidates will be able to run on Obamacare as an advantage in 2014.”

For Wasserman Schultz and the DNC, insurance companies didn’t cancel thousands of policies and astronomical rate hikes are actually lower rates. The establishment political class forges reality and we are obliged to follow or be labeled extremists or worse.

“It is a real significant distortion to say that hundreds of thousands of people are getting cancelled,” Wasserman Schultz said. “What’s actually happening is that they are very likely to get a better plan for less money.”

“If you like your private health insurance plan, you can keep your plan. Period,” Obama said back when he was selling snake oil back in 2010.

It turned out to be a lie. “We’ve got to work hard to make sure that they know we hear them and we are going to do everything we can to deal with folks who find themselves in a tough position as a consequence of this” Obama said last week.

Obama and his advisers knew at the time that around 70 percent of employer-based plans would be flushed down the tubes. More than 40 million Americans would lose their health care or be forced into other plans with less coverage at higher prices. The self-employed would be sacrificed.

The real purpose of Obamacare is to destroy the old model – admittedly broken and expensive – and replace it with a government mandated system that establishes a corporate monopoly and forces Americans to buy insurance at gunpoint. It is crony capitalism writ large.

Obama’s “ACA will in fact create a ‘market.’ But the market will be a federally controlled and federally regulated oligopoly and will therefore resemble the Soviet Union bread market,” writes Bill Butler. “Government will determine who is an authorized provider and will therefore determine (and therefore limit) supply. Government will also determine who is an authorized payer (only authorized insurers and the government itself through Medicare and Medicaid) and therefore limit ‘demand.’”

Debbie Wasserman Schultz knows this. She also knows that millions of Americans will either vote for Democrats or Republicans, as they always do. It’s her job to make the so-called tea party Republicans out to be scary extremists and portray Democrats as saviors.
