CNN reports a small number of Democrats have defected from their party and have joined the Tea Party.

“Some Americans who say they have been sympathetic to Democratic causes in the past — some even voted for Democratic candidates — are angry with President Obama and his party. They say they are now supporting the Tea Party — a movement that champions less government, lower taxes and the defeat of Democrats even though it’s not formally aligned with the Republican Party,” reports CNN.

Let’s hope it is the real Tea Party and not the Republican version. Notice how CNN adds that the Tea Party is somehow connected to the Republican party, although “not formally.” The Sarah Palin campaigning for neocon McCain version of the Tea Party is connected to the Republican party, but the real Tea Party, the Libertarian version, is not. It criticizes Republicans and Democrats equally.

“To be sure, the number of Democrats in the Tea Party movement is small. A recent CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll shows that while 96 percent of Tea Party activists identify themselves as either Republican or Independent, only 4 percent say they are Democrats.”

This is also misleading. If the poll was conducted without bias — CNN, bias? — they would find that most Tea Party members are Libertarian or Independent with a preference for less government and a return to Constitutional values.

Most Republicans are not Libertarians. They support big government and endless debt to the banksters just like their Democrat counterparts — they merely have different priorities for the money they steal from you (mostly expanding the military so it can invade small countries). Mitt Romney who ushered in “health care” (at gunpoint) in Massachusetts epitomizes the modern Republican.

“Some of these disgruntled voters are taking part in the current Tea Party Express tour.”

The Tea Party Express is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Republican party. It will eventually back a Sara Palin coupled up with Mitt Romney or maybe Rick Perry ticket. Democrats fed up with Obama need to get as far away from the Tea Party Express as they can — pronto — before they become Borg hive neocon Tea Party Republicans.

Democrats fleeing the party of Obama need to keep one thing in mind, though — they will be considered racist white supremacists and gun-toting domestic terrorists by the government and the corporate media.
