Austin [Texas] police suspended an officer Wednesday for repeatedly failing to follow protocols after being involved in five on-duty car crashes while driving a police vehicle in the span of a year.
Acevedo suspended South Austin patrol officer Keith Allison for three days starting Thursday for not notifying a supervisor that he was involved in a car crash before he left the scene, a memorandum made public Thursday said.
The incident leading to Allison’s suspension happened on Jan. 22 when Allison was involved in a single-vehicle crash at South First Street and Blue Valley Drive that damaged a wheel, the document said.
