A police officer in North Charleston was fired this week after he snapped a selfie while wearing confederate flag boxer shorts.

In the wake of the heinous Charleston shooting and the media furor that has followed, this was no doubt a rather stupid thing to do, but when you examine what other cops have NOT been fired for doing, it paints a vivid picture.

ABC News reported the case of Sgt. Shannon Dildine, who posted the picture to his Facebook page.

Police Chief Eddie Driggers issues a termination letter to the officer, Sgt. Shannon Dildine, saying the photo undermines the officer’s “ability to improve trust and instill confidence when working with our citizens.”

“Your posting in this manner led to you being publicly identified as a North Charleston Police officer and associated both you and the Department with an image that symbolizes hate and oppression to a significant portion of the citizens we are sworn to serve,” Driggers wrote.

Dildine has ten days to appeal the decision.

The case has unfolded at a time when Walmart and other retailers have either chosen or, according to some reports, been forced to remove confederate associated products from stores and websites.

The politically correct driven trend has even extended to the National Cathedral in Washington DC, which has announced it will take down two stained-glass windows that feature the flag as a reminder of the nation’s history. The windows have been in the building since 1953.

So called ‘protesters’ under the Black Lives Matter banner have set about defacing and vandalizing confederate related memorials and monuments in half a dozen states now, while news anchors continue to harp on the idea that removing a flag will somehow stop hatred and racism.

While Sgt. Shannon Dildine is perhaps a few cents short of a pocket of loose change for posting his Confederate selfie, it’s remarkable to consider that he has been fired when other officers get away scott free with everything else under the sun.

Take Sgt. Jonathan Frost of Eaton County Michigan, for instance, who is still in his job and will face no charges after he shot a 17-year-old kid in the head when he refused to comply with a traffic stop.

Officer Mike Denton in Owasso Oklahoma was initally fired for stomping on a handcuffed man’s head and then repeatedly elbowing him in the face, but later rehired after a police union appealed, claiming that he was just defending himself. Denton is now under investigation again for repeatedly slamming the butt end of a shotgun into a suspect.

These are just two cases InfoWars has reported on this week, the list goes on and on.

This is the new America, where violent psychopaths roam around with guns and badges, beating and killing people without consequence, yet their more restrained colleagues get waylaid for their choice of underwear.
