An agitated Christiane Amanpour, CNN’s well seasoned propagandist who developed her chops defending Bill Clinton’s murder of Serbians, said a “moral” United States cannot allow chemical weapons to be used in Syria. She indignantly demanded U.S. military intervention in the country.
“I can barely contain myself at this point,” said the journalist. “How many more times do we have to say that weapons of mass destruction were used and as bad as it is to decapitate somebody it is in no means equal?”
Although the Obama administration and the establishment insist the al-Assad government used chemical weapons against civilians in Syria, there is scant evidence to back up Amanpour’s assertion or justify her emotional outburst.
“We can’t use this false moral equivalence about what’s going on right now. They tried to do it in the Second World War, they tried to do it in Bosnia, they tried to do it in Rwanda and they tried to do it now. There is no moral equivalence,” she said.
Amanpour is known for her support of U.S. military interventionism. Her objectivity and journalistic integrity was questioned when she filed emotional reports from Sarajevo during the Bosnian War.
“There are some situations one simply cannot be neutral about, because when you are neutral you are an accomplice. Objectivity doesn’t mean treating all sides equally. It means giving each side a hearing,” she argued in response to criticism.
Amanpour was instrumental in Clinton’s propaganda offensive against Bosnian Serbs. Following the Sarajevo marketplace mortar attack in 1994 that killed 68 and left 200 wounded, then U.S. ambassador to the UN, Madeline Albright and presidential security advisor Anthony Lake, immediately called for NATO air strikes against the Bosnian Serbs despite the fact there was no evidence the Serbs had launched the attack.
“Yet there were already people claiming that even the UN itself did not suspect the Bosnian Serbs, but this appears to have been suppressed by the Western media, possibly acting under covert British and American pressure, assuming the whole purpose of the mortar attack was to provide the pretext for NATO military involvement in the Balkans for the first time,” writes Seán Mac Mathúna.

In addition, it has served since at least the late 1990s as a base for the Pentagon’s Fourth Psychological Operations Group based at Fort Bragg, in North Carolina.
Amanpour is married to James Rubin, a former Assistant Secretary of State and spokesman for the State Department during the Clinton administration. He is currently an informal adviser to former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Obama.
