Samsung’s Galaxy S5 smartphone may have eye scanning technology, to outdo Apple’s fingerprint sensor that was introduced with the iPhone 5s.

Lee Young Hee, the executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile arm, told Bloomberg at CES in Las Vegas that the company is “studying the possibility, but we can’t really say whether we will have it or not on the S5.”

She added that many people are fanatical about the iris scanning software.

What’s certain is that the Galaxy S5 will be paired with an updated version of the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, alongside more advanced functions and a sleeker design.
