If Friday’s Supreme Court ruling making same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states has demonstrated anything, it’s that the left is a mob of sore, ungracious winners.
Fr. Jonathan Morris, author, frequent Fox News contributor and parish priest at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church in the Bronx, N.Y., tweeted this gentle reminder of how we should conduct ourselves:
The greatest evidence of authentic good will…is the way we treat people with whom we passionately disagree.

Apparently at least two people didn’t get the message. The following day he tweeted:
Walking down Broadway and 22nd St just now, I ran into gay marriage parade. Two men walked by and spat on me. Oh well… I deserve worse.
— Fr. Jonathan Morris (@fatherjonathan) June 28, 2015
And talk about grace — Morris followed up with this one:
The two men who spat on me are probably very good man caught up in excitement and past resentment. Most in that parade would not do that.

Others answered Morris’s tweets with disappointment:
@Liberty_Ally they spit on him and he says they're just caught up in the excitement??? What on earth!? Disappointing and trying to be PC

@fatherjonathan Sorry Father, good people don't spit on other people, no matter HOW excited they are. Let's not excuse it. @neighhay

@neighhay As a Christian, I understand concept of forgiveness. You can forgive, but not excuse. Have to demand civility. @fatherjonathan

@fatherjonathan What world are you living in? Gays are the most intolerant people out there.. please don't make excuses for them

But it’s not just gays who are intolerant — it’s liberals in general.
President Obama ordered the White House to be lit in rainbow colors Friday night following the announcement of the Supreme Court’s decision.
A clear message to Conservatives: I won, I have no class and I’m rubbing everyone’s face in it.
It wasn’t spitting on a priest. But it was the same idea.
