A man with a Kalashnikov rifle on board an Amsterdam-Paris train shot and wounded three people on Friday.
The incident occurred after 4 PM near Arras in northern France.
The gunman was arrested when the train stopped at a station in the town.
Police have not ruled out terrorism.
Bernard Cazeneuve, the French interior minister, traveled to the region, according to news reports.
