Glenn Beck sensationally labeled Matt Drudge “evil” for linking to a post that suggested Beck and a guest on his radio show advocated a “patriot” assassinate Donald Trump if he becomes president.

The American Mirror characterized Beck’s discussion with best-selling author Brad Thor as an agreement between the two that the only way to get Trump out of office was to “apparently kill him”.

Here’s the relevant exchange from the show, with the audio below;

THOR: “I am about to suggest something very bad. It is a hypothetical I am going to ask as a thriller writer.

With the feckless, spineless Congress we have, who will stand in the way of Donald Trump overstepping his constitutional authority as President? If Congress won’t remove him from office, what patriot will step up and do that if, if, he oversteps his mandate as president, his constitution-mandated authority as president, I should say.

If he oversteps that, how do we get him out of office? And I don’t think there is a legal means available. I think it will be a terrible, terrible position the American people will be in to get Trump out of office, because you won’t be able to do it through Congress.”

BECK: “I would agree with you on that.”

After the American Mirror article was posted on the Drudge Report, Beck’s co-host Pat Gray shot back first, accusing Drudge of being a “despicable lying scumbag,” before claiming, “NOBODY stated or implied any harm coming to Trump.”

“Whoever this person is that wrote this piece of crap couldn’t even demonstrate in the story where this threat supposedly happened. Yet, Drudge, linked it. PATHETIC,” continued Gray, calling Drudge, “A total fraud and an embarrassment.”

Beck then shared Gray’s Facebook post, commenting, “So evil. That is NOT what he meant, nor is it what we thought. How evil do you have to be to think this?,” before asking Drudge if he was “crazy”.

Beck and Drudge have been at loggerheads for weeks, with the news aggregator repeatedly posting rants by Alex Jones which attacked Beck for cozying up to Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg even as the social media network continues to censor conservatives.

This is not the first time that Beck has been accused of making veiled violent threats towards Donald Trump.

Back in March, the radio host said if he “had a knife, the stabbing just wouldn’t stop,” during a discussion about Trump’s performance in a GOP debate. However, Beck later claimed that he was playfully referring to his co-host Stu Burguiere.

Although the majority of violent threats aimed at Trump have come from leftists, so-called conservatives have also joined the fray.

New York Times columnist Ross Douthat caused outrage after he joked about how an assassination attempt could end Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, linking to a clip from the 1983 movie The Dead Zone, which features a character played by Christopher Walken attempting to gun down a political figure played by Martin Sheen.

As the video below documents, the media narrative that Trump is to blame for violence at his rallies has created an environment that has condoned violent threats directed towards the Republican candidate, emboldening potential assassins who might be crazy enough to follow through on their rhetoric.
