WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. – It’s a program designed by the Obama Administration to help people in these tough economic times keep their homes, but a Wheat Ridge woman said Bank of America, along with Freddie Mac, sold her house out from under her without giving her any notice.

61-year-old Stephanie Martin lived in the home near 34th and Kipling for 20 years. She raised her children there and is now taking care of her 7-year-old granddaughter and her 84-year-old mother there.

She said she never had any problems making house payments until a work injury last June. She fell off a ladder at the Target store where she worked and crushed her legs. Doctors had to rebuild both legs and replace her knees. She spent three months in the hospital and then several more months in a physical rehab facility.
