Public memorials to those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center often contain a piece of steel from the fallen towers.

A new memorial planned here could also include the ashes of two emergency responders who arrived at Ground Zero on Sept. 11, 2001, and stayed for 10 days.

Sarge found the body of a firefighter who perished when the World Trade Center was brought down by terrorists. Nutmeg recovered body parts.
